My appetite is insatiable
Day 2 of the September basho is complete and it’s been great so far. Hoshoryu is looking back to form and Wakatakakage seems to have bounced back from a first day defeat. No mental blocks as of now 🤞.
I’ve been increasing the intensity in my workouts. Since stopping competitive sports, there’s not been much point to pushing limits. My focus now, though, is just challenging myself based on what I know I’m capable of. So, that is allowing me to dig a bit deeper than normal here lately.
The increase in weight and intensity has driven my hunger up, though. I’m always hungry and rarely feel like anything sits heavy. It’s simply fuel. Good place to be, I suppose.
Shiko has taken a back seat this past week since I focused more on intense deadlifts and heavy viking presses/thruster movements. I’ll get back to it this week, though. The endurance shiko builds is very noticeable when doing heavy lifts - they just feel a bit easier. Never. Stop. Shiko.
A friend and co-worker just returned from a trip to Japan and brought back some very nice chopsticks for me. Can’t wait to add them to collection and put them to use soon. Here’s to a great week ahead to all 🥃
