Ura and some nostalgia
Remember when everybody made fan graphics of athletes, musicians, actors, etc? Some of you might be too young for that. So, let me quickly explain. People would use subpar photoshop skills and techniques to make images that highlighted their interests or to show support for people/things and then use them in the online forum signatures, buddy profiles, websites and so on.
These graphics often used random brush packs and backdrops that may or may not fit the subject matter, but it always felt cool. Techy graphics used heads up display type overlays. Images displaying support for an athlete often had elements related to their sport. You get the idea.
Well, I miss those days. I’m going to start making some of these when I get bored and posting them here. These are cropped as instagram story or phone wallpaper sizes. To start, I decided to make one for a fan-favorite rikishi - Ura. He’s known for his surprisingly athletic prowess on the dohyo, fun loving attitude, tiny salt throws, and his pink mawashi.
